project 05 · donated skills

devs.eco, the workshop that gives away half its work.

We build websites, intranets and applications for the people doing useful work without an agency budget. It is not free, it is far cheaper: the gap with the market rate is not a commercial discount, it is our donation of skills.

donated skills

Giving working time, not only money.

The group's giving programme funds charities with the revenue from Ecomail and Ecomtel. devs.eco adds the kind of donation that is missing most often: engineering time. A charity that needs a website, an intranet or a management tool runs into agency quotes far beyond its reach, and ends up improvising or giving up.

We invoice the work delivered at a deliberately low price and cover the rest ourselves. Every proposal shows both figures side by side: the real market rate, and the devs.eco price. The difference is written down in plain sight, so the donation is visible rather than implied.

who we work with

We do not work for everyone.

That is deliberate: this price only holds if the project serves something larger than itself, or the people doing useful work without an agency's means.

Charities

Non-profits, foundations, collectives. Website, memberships, calendar, volunteer area: the building blocks a charity genuinely needs.

Ecology and transition

Farms, food co-operatives, reuse centres, neighbourhood schemes, environmental consultancies. The people working on the ground.

Independent workers

Sole traders, craftspeople, care professionals. A serious website at a price that does not eat into your cash flow.

Mission-driven companies

Social economy, co-operatives, purpose-driven companies. Commitment that is proven, not merely declared.

the method

A low price is held together by method.

We do not invoice meetings, we invoice work delivered. Every stage is framed, and you always know where you stand.

    01

    You describe your project

A questionnaire in plain language, ten minutes, no technical jargon. It replaces three scoping meetings, and it is what makes the price possible.

    02

    You receive a proposal

A written scope, a firm price, a deadline. If the budget does not cover everything, we propose a useful first stage rather than a quote beyond your reach.

    03

    We deliver, then we stay

Your text and images go into your own space, section by section. Once the site is live, we walk you through it and the hosting stays under your control.

our commitments

A lean website is a better website.

Hosted in Europe

European servers running on renewable energy, with no data leaving the Union.

No tracking

No advertising trackers, respectful analytics, and GDPR compliance written down in plain terms.

You stay the owner

Your domain name, your content, your code. Leaving is always possible, with nothing to negotiate.
